Money Saving Mom - Guest Post

Just a quick note to my regular readers - Check out my guest post at MoneySavingMom.com:

I was not always a frugal person: Ten years ago I didn't know how to cook, I spent $800-$1000 at the grocery store and we ordered take out frequently.

The ladies over at Frugal-Families helped me realize my dream of becoming a Stay at Home Mom (2002).

After reading the blogs GroceryCartChallenge and MoneySavingMom, I decided to use cash at the grocery store and shop weekly for only the items that I needed to complete my menu plan. By doing this, I was able to lower my grocery bill to $260. You can read the article to find out why I bumped it up to $400 a month.

My friend Faith proofread my article for me - Thanks Faith!!!

  2. Oh, I just read your grain free too! So am I. I also recently had to limit dairy, legumes and night shade plants as well.

  3. Hi Johnlyn! I just HAD to come say hello when I saw that you, too, are grain-free. My whole health has changed since going grain-free: I'm less depressed, I can focus more clearly, I've dropped 50 pounds pretty much effortlessly, my blood pressure is the best it's ever been since being tracked, and my cholesterol is excellent. Isn't it the best thing ever? I am so happy to see other folks catching on to this!

  4. So glad you keep commenting Michele!!! I've had to do the same with dairy too. I tried an elimination diet of sorts with legumes and night shades too. I'm off to read your other comments!

Ginger: Isn't it just amazing how much better you feel without grains? My energy level is sky high now. Previously in the afternoon I was a zombie....not so anymore!
