Flylady has a wonderful definition of a hot spot over at her website.
In my home I had to do a few things before I could manage the hot spots that kept re-igniting.
- Locate the hot spot or spots.
- Find homes for the things that always ended up in my hot spots.
- Make my hot spot area pretty and uncluttered - this was the key for me. I now have plants on my buffet and a small binder and pretty pen holder on my island.
- Make an effort every morning, afternoon and evening to keep the hot spot clean.
I don't have to work very hard to maintain my hot spots any more. Habits are an amazing thing!!! My buffet and island are not perfect, but they are under control and that is my goal.
Take five minutes and go clean off a hot spot!!!
