Recipe - Buffalo Wings

One of my FAVORITE things is buffalo wings. I have made a few things "buffalo flavored" but I just love wings. When we go to a restaurant that is what I want to order.

I bought a bag of chicken wings at WalMart (yes, I'm trying to buy all local chickens, this is a compromise food for me - better than going out to a restaurant to get these where they'd be fried in who knows what grease).

I have butter and hot sauce on hand. I used Frank's Red Hot Sauce. I've heard that is the best, but I have no idea if that is true or not.
  1. Boil chicken wings until done (30 -40 minutes; boiling first will then allow you to bake until crispy)
  2. Melt 1/4 c. butter
  3. Mix butter with 1/2 c hot sauce (you may need to adjust this based on your preference)
  4. When chicken is done put in a baking pan.
  5. Pour sauce over the top to coat evenly
  6. Bake chicken wings at 425 basting occasionally until nice and crispy. This took forever - maybe 45-60 minutes, I can't remember.
  7. Serve with a tossed salad or celery and carrots w/ ranch. Bleu cheese would have been better!
  8. Enjoy!

  2. These sound so yummy. We love Franks. I also love Frank's buffalo sauce, it gives all the great taste but is low fat (you don't have to add the butter). It is so addictive. We love it on fries too - had that in Mexico!

  4. followed from tuesday parade but thought I would share another option with you :) If you heat the hot sauce and then remove from heat and stir in the cold butter cut in chunks til melted it makes it creamier. Hope you try this.
