Fuel Pump

The fuel pump is going out in our Tahoe, to the tune of $700. When I asked the mechanic if there's anything I could have done to prevent this, he told me that you should always fill up your tank when you have a quarter of a tank left (or more). The fuel will cool down the system and your vehicle will run better.

I rarely let my vehicle go below 1/4 tank because it makes me uncomfortable. Who knows how often the driver of the first 100,000 miles of this vehicle filled up the gas tank.

My friend said it best..."Dad always told me that the vehicle runs better on the first half of the tank rather than the last half of the tank."

My tip today...keep your gas tank full. Pick a day to fill up your gas tank. If you make it a routine then you will always have fuel and possibly prevent an expensive repair!
