Frugal - Making Do

I've been spending a LOT of money lately. I've bought sheets, towels, spent my birthday money on various things, bought a food dehydrator, etc.

The one thing I will not buy right now is a new garden hose. Do I have money for a hose? Yep! Is it a planned purchase NOPE!

I had two garden hoses connected together that ran across the driveway. As I was backing up I thought - "it's a good thing I saw the hoses sitting there so I won't drive over the connection."

Guess what I did...yep, ran over the connection. I ruined our ONE.GOOD.HOSE. The only one that didn't kink up when it was put away. I ruined the other hose too, but it was a piece of junk. It still worked though.

Because of my carelessness/laziness I ruined two hoses. We were planning on buying a better garden hose next year. I refuse to buy one this year though. It's quite comical when I water the side yard because I use a junky hose connected to a soaker hose connected to a sprinkler. I get completely soaked when I set it up!Maybe I'll find out this is the best way to water that area.

In the meantime, I'm determined to learn from this.
  1. Making do, doesn't HURT me!
  2. Next time, move the hose :-)
  3. Be respectful of the things that I own.
  4. Be happy that I could buy a hose, but have chosen not too.
Do I feel deprived? NOPE, not a all. I feel like I've learned something from this.

  1. Just schedule your watering at a time when you need a shower ;) ...and be sure to bring along a bar of soap and some shampoo!
