Coconut Oil

I admit it, I'm confused about coconuts. At first I heard - don't eat them, you're going to die because of all of the fat in them.

Now I hear that they are one of the best foods we can eat because they are medium chain fatty acids or something like that.

Right now, I don't care about the pros and cons that coconut has for my body. All I care about is that my table is shiny and PRETTY again!

What?!? Change of subject.

The finish on my dining room table has been dull for months. Previously I used olive oil on it. However, since I now buy very expensive (aka healthy) olive oil, I didn't want to waste my oil on the table. I knew I didn't want to buy and bring more chemicals into my home as well.

I brought out the coconut oil and OH MY! I rubbed the oil in and then let it sit for hours. You could see it being absorbed into the table. Well, you couldn't really see that part, you could see where some oil was gone and the table was shiny.

My house is getting in much better shape now that I'm attempting the 15 minutes a day Flylady way!

Coconut oil can be used on your hair (just a little!), your face, your body, your table and your food. Don't buy the cheap-o brand and expect it to be as good as the more expensive organic extra virgin coconut oil!

This tip has been brought to you by one quirky girl :-)

  1. I love coconut oil! I bake with it, I've applied it to scuffed leather and I've rubbed it into my son's scars. I've even used it on my hair :)

I keep two jars at a time - a kitchen jar for food and a household jar for everything else!

  2. I love coconut oil. I would never think of rubbing it on my furniture. I think I will give it a go before I go to bed.
