Voting with Your Dollars

I am learning that I have power as a consumer. I am voting with my shopping dollars. I didn't think one person could make a difference, but I am realizing that is not true.

One grocery store that I go to charges me incorrectly, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I found out last time I was  over charged for milk, that they have a scan guarantee. If it scans wrong you get the item free.

Here's the catch though. You only get it free if you KNOW about the scan guarantee. In the last year that I've shopped there, I've had many many issues with their pricing and I've never gotten anything free. They will give me my money back for the difference in the price, but it's never been free.

So I've decided to do something about it. I'm not "purposely" shopping there anymore. They used to be on my shopping route, but not anymore. I'm tired of wasting my time.

Instead, I'll give our money to local ranchers/farmers, shop at my local grocery store, go to the butcher shop, order from Azure Standard, go to the farmer's market in the summer or go to Walmart/Sam's Club (for a few items that my little grocery store doesn't carry).

How I choose to spend our money, directly impacts people and businesses.
