Omelet Making

I made omelets last week for the first time. Mexican Omelets. In my mind I'm thinking EWWWWW that sounds disgusting. However, I get tired of cooking the same thing all of the time so I thought I'd change it up a bit. My kids could NOT get enough. They absolutely loved them. My husband was thoroughly impressed that I could make omelets and he liked them as well.

I personally wouldn't choose to make Mexican Omelets again, but since the rest of my family absolutely loved them, I'll add them to our menu plan.

Using swagbucks as my search engine, I typed in "how do I make an omelet." After I watched this video, I remembered something I had heard a long time ago...don't add milk to your eggs, add a splash of water.

Here's what I did:
  1. Melted butter in a small Teflon pan
  2. Scrambled two eggs with a splash of water
  3. Added Salt and Pepper
  4. Poured egg mixture into a hot pan
  5. As the egg mixture cooked, holding the pan at an angle, I took a rubber scraper and gently pushed the cooked egg mixture aside so the raw stuff could cook.
  6. Then I flung the whole thing up into the air flipping the egg mixture over so the other side could cook. Okay, not really, just checking to see if you were paying attention. I used my flipper and flipped over the egg mixture.
  7. Added the taco meat that I had previously prepared.
  8. Added shredded cheese.
  9. Folded it up and let it sit a minute (off the burner) to melt the cheese.
  10. Served it with homemade salsa. Sour cream would have been served if we would have had any.
I know there are better instructions on the Internet, search away if you are interested!
