Tightwad Tuesday Tip - Values

One reason I admire Amy D who wrote The Complete Tightwad Gazette is because of her values. For example, when her kids were complaining that they weren't getting enough ice cream with a junior ice cream cone, she stopped buying them ice cream as often so it seemed like a treat again when she bought them a small cone.

What's wrong with going to Dairy Queen and getting just a plain ole ice cream cone? Why do we always feel that we need to have the blizzard or some other fancy schmancy dessert? Fewer treats, less expensive treats does NOT mean that we are deprived. It should be a treat to get an ice cream cone, not a requirement to get a blizzard.
