My kids are 13 and 10 7/8 (AKA he'll be 11 soon!) Every day after school they ride the bus home. They don't like it at all! According to them, it's too loud and it feels like it takes forever. I'm sure if their best friends rode the bus with them they'd have a different opinion.
Last year I was trying to figure out how to spend more one on one time with them. I decided that on Tuesday I'd pick up my son from school and on Wednesday I'd pick up my daughter. This is a perfect time for me to run a real quick errand or sometimes I'll make it a special mama time and take them out for a treat. Either way we get consistent time together.
You can't even imagine the pouting that happens around here when they don't get their "Mama Time".
