Lent Update

I haven't given a lent update for a while. One night last week was the first night I haven't gotten to read my book. We had attended a funeral and I was completely emotionally wiped out and had nothing to give. Initially I felt like not being able to read was a punishment, but honestly I really needed sleep more than anything.

I have scrambled a few times at night to figure out what to do for my husband. The biggest and greatest thing I can do for him... SHUT UP! LISTEN! ACT on his advice! He gives really good advice....I should really listen to it...I should really act on it. He doesn't always need to hear my opinion on EVERYTHING. Last night I was trying to figure out what I could do (my book is getting pretty good) so I wrote a note and tucked it inside the sunflower seed bag that he always keeps in his car.

My son's love language is touch - definitely has been the easiest change for me. Every day now he asks if it's cuddle time yet. He's in 5th grade...what a sweetie. How much longer will this go on? It could end any moment!

My daughter has been keeping me on my toes as well. She's in 7th grade and loves getting notes at school in her lunch box. I write notes to her friends too - for some reason they think that's really funny. My son would DIE if I did that to him! It's amazing to me how each person is so different.

This is a habit that I really want to keep after my lent challenge is over. It can't hurt anything, it can only make my family grow stronger.
