Hot Spots

You know how I love my FLYLADY!

A hot spot is a flat surface that robs you of the peace in your home because CLUTTER accumulates so quickly in these spots.

I have two major hot spots that I'm working on. One is the buffet in my dining room. It's where I put all of my "work" stuff. Recipes, ideas to save money, organizing stuff, etc. Two weeks ago I cleared it all off and put very few things back. I had to find some place to put my "work" stuff. I moved dishes that I rarely use to a cupboard above the sink and put my "work" stuff in there. So far so good!

My other major hot spot is my kitchen island. I put my to do list on a clipboard on the fridge because that was always on the island and my big honkin' to do binder was put in my buffet. Several times a day I try to make sure that the island is cleared off. The thing that helped me the most was coming home after getting the kids off to school and wiping it off.

Set your timer and go! Get rid of a hotspot today. Just one. Then focus on that hot spot the rest of the week. One hot spot at a time and your home will look so much better.

  1. I also really like flylady, and I found that just identifying my hot spots was a huge help in making it a priority to get keep them de-cluttered.
